When its cold and rainy in July what do you do? You have the Beech Street Bake Off! Bee made her famous oatmeal cookies, Frankie made homemade chocolate sprinkles, and I made cinnamon olive oil gelato! What was so nice is that Bee and Frankie made their items all by themselves. And, even though we did not plan it this way, the 3 combined made an awesome dessert!

Ingredients
3/4 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
Beat sugar and egg yolks in a large bowl until pale yellow with wire whisk, about 5 minutes. Add oil and beat some more until creamy. Heat over medium high 1 cup milk and 1 cup cream on stove until it bubbles on the side of the pan. Slowly add heated milk mixture to sugar mixture while continuing to beat with the wire whisk. Mix thoroughly. Add 1 cup cold milk and mix some more. Put into glass bowl and cool in the refrigerator (1-2 hours). Then pour into an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions. Serve with oatmeal cookies and chocolate sprinkles made by your kids!
