So Lake Tahoe is pretty, but the south shore is pretty developed and busy, and we hit it on Memorial Weekend. Crazy! Our main goal was a hike around Echo Lakes, but when we got there we could not even find a place to park. So, we bailed and went for a shorter hike on the lake, then found a shady park for some softball practice.
We’ll stop overnight in Elko, NV before heading to Salt Lake City.

We spent a whirlwind evening in San Francisco, at the very dog-friendly Argonaut Hotel, and found some excellent bi bim bap at a Korean place called Stone. The next day, we took a side trip to the St. Francis Winery (Ang’s favorite) and did a wine tasting. Fun!

We had a full day yesterday traipsing around Yosemite National Park. After a four mile hike through the Mariposa Sequoia Grove, a walk with Choch on the Meadow Loop in Wawona, Yosemite Falls seemed like an afterthought. Lots to do there, gotta go back some time…

We’ve started our blowout road trip to finish up sabbatical. Kicking off with a wedding in Albuquerque and the Grand Canyon, we’ll roll through a bunch of fun places in the next two weeks. Keep up on the photos here!

3:44 in the Colorado Marathon! Starting altitude was 6200 ft and the temperature at the finish was 75°F to boot!

4th Birthday, May 2013
It’s been a while since we were able to do a hike, since the weekend weather has been reliably bad. Today is supposed be rainy, again, but yesterday was much better, so we did the Flatirons Vista trail, and easy walk through rolling meadows and pine forest. Cho cho could run off-leash because of Boulder’s excellent dog policy. The hardest part was avoiding the mountain bikers.
Any old water will do.
